On October 6th, 2020, the State of Washington released important updates and expansions to the return-to-play guidelines for youth athletes. According to the directive, many youth sports will be able to resume competition depending on the following two factors:

1. The sport risk category: Soccer is considered a "moderate risk" sport.

2. The County COVID-19 Activity Level Guidance: Soccer, a moderate risk sport, can resume scrimmages and league
competitions only when the county of play is considered a moderate (or low level) county. Moderate Level County COVID
Activity, as defined by the State, is >25-75 cases/100K/14 days AND <5% positivity.

For more information on anticipated start dates, please refer to the State of Washington's "Professional Sports & Other Sporting Activities COVID-19 Requirements." As mentioned above, the document indicates that the date when which youth soccer players are able to resume competition depends greatly on the current risk factor of transmitting COVID-19 within the county of play. Please refer to the document for more information on the different risk categories and allowed activities within each designation. The document also details important safety precautions that organizations may administer in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. For example, all coaches and athletes may be required to sign-in and pass a basic health screening before participation in trainings and/or games.
